The publishing an der Ruhr is a technical book publishing company based in Mülheim an der Ruhr . The publisher specializes in educational titles.

The publishing house, founded in 1981, has been part of the Franz Cornelsen Education Group since 2003 . Annika Renker has been the managing director since 2012.

The publishing house has around 38 employees and a turnover of seven million euros. More than 1200 products by around 500 authors are currently published. The target group are teachers, educators and parents, but also interested young people. According to its own information, the publisher is particularly characterized by its “courage to face difficult topics” such as racism , war , dying and sexual abuse, as well as “materials that encourage independent, self-sufficient learning”.

Since 2004 the publisher has published its own readings in the KLAR series with accompanying teaching material.

The publisher's books and authors received the Goethe Publishing Prize in 1999 and the Gustav Heinemann Peace Prize in 1994 and the Gustav Heinemann Peace Prize for books for children and young people Awarded and recommended books up to 2015.
