history

The club was founded on July 22nd, 1948 as Eintracht Lippe and on January 27th, 1951 it was renamed the Marl-Hüls Association for Lawn Games 1948 . The VfB 48/64 sleeve was created in 1976 through the merger of VfR 1948 Marl sleeve and the pupils 1964 Drewer-Süd .

The footballers of VfB Hüls rose for the first time in 1990 in the then third-class Oberliga Westfalen , from which they relegated immediately after one season. In 1994 they managed to rise again. In 2000, VfB Hüls won the Westphalia Championship in the Oberliga and reached the promotion round to the Regionalliga Nord (then 3rd division). After a 1-0 win at North Rhine-Westphalia champions Wuppertaler SV, the team from then coach Manfred Wölpper lost 2-1 to the regional league club SV Elversberg at home at the bathing pond . The victory in the last game on a neutral place in the Sportpark Höhenberg against the south-west champions Borussia Neunkirchen was meaningless, since SV Elversberg managed to stay in the Regionalliga Nord with three victories in the relegation.

After VfB Hüls was relegated from the league in 2007 and rose again in the following 2007/08 season as champions of the Westphalia Football Association , the team took part in the NRW League from the 2008/09 season . In the 2011/12 season, the seventh place achieved in the NRW League entitled to participate in the relegation for promotion to the regional league . A bye was drawn for VfB Hüls at the draw for this on June 4, 2012 in the WFLV office . Such a bye had come about because none of the participants from the Mittelrhein Association had submitted an application for admission to the regional league. Hüls played in the Regionalliga West in the 2012/13 season, and rose as table-17 at the end of the season. but directly off again.

After the sporting success failed to materialize in the 2014/15 season and the club was ranked 16th after 24 games, coach Karsten Quante was parted with Markus Kaya on April 21, 2015. Two days later, the club announced the league team from playing in the 2015/16 season in order to make a fresh start in the district league. In 2018, the Hülser made it to the state league. However, the team immediately descended again.
