Victor Salva (born March 29, 1958 in Martinez , California ) is an American film director , screenwriter , film producer and film actor and convicted sex criminal.

biography

Salva grew up in San Francisco and has wanted to make films since he was twelve.

During the production of his feature film debut Clownhouse (1989) he practiced oral sex several times on his twelve-year-old leading actor Nathan Forrest Winters and recorded the deeds on video. In 1989 Salva was sentenced to three years imprisonment for this; after 15 months in prison, he was released in 1992 for good conduct.

It wasn't until 1994 that Salva started working again as a director ( The Nature of the Beast ). During the theatrical release of Salvas Film Powder , Winters, now almost 20 years old, launched a campaign against Salva and called on the public to boycott the film. The resulting media coverage ensured that Salva only found work as a director four years later ( Rites of Passage , 1999). His film Haunted , shot in 2012 , was released in 2014 under the title Dark House . In 2017 he completed Jeepers Creepers 3 .

Salva's artistic work focuses on horror film .
