Vigleik Storaas (born February 2, 1963 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian jazz pianist.

In the early 1980s, Storaas led the Trio Søkk og Snøre in Bergen and played in the quintet of Andreas Skjold and Helge Knutsen . From 1982 to 1984 he studied at the Trøndelag Conservatory of Music in Trondheim. During this time he worked with Bjørn Klakegg Sextet and bands such as Third Floor Ten Piece Band (1983-84), Søyr (1983-86), Plumbo (1984-85) and Brazz Brør (1984-86).

From 1985 to 1987 he was a member of the Bjørn-Alterhaug band , and in 1986 Ove Stokstad's group Open Door . At the Molde Festival 1985 he appeared as a member of the quintet of Elin Rosseland , at the Kongsberg Festival 1987 he took part as the leader of his own quartet.

Since the late 1980s, Storaas went on several tours with Karin Krog . Since 1990 he has led the Bodega Band ; at the same time he was a member of Kjersti Stubø's band. In 1992 he founded the quintet VSOB ( Vigleik Storaas Og Band ), from which the Vigleik Storaas Trio emerged . With this he recorded the CDs Bilder (1994) and Andre bilder (1996), both of which were awarded the Spellemannprisen .

In 1994 Storaas gave a duo concert with Palle Danielsson in Molde . In the next few years he recorded with Jacob Young and Espen Rud and prepared his solo album Open excursions , which was released in 1999. After recordings with Kjersti Stubø and John Pål Inderberg , the album Subsonic was released in 2002 with his own trio. In the same year he became a member of Kirsti Huke's quartet . In 2004 he gave a concert with the Trondheim Jazzorkester , the recording of which was released in 2006 ( Tribute ). In 2006 Storaas founded the trio Orange with Sondre Meisfjord and Stig Rennestraum , with whom he released the album Implicity in the same year . He also plays with Atle Nymo and Cecilie Grundt .
