Vive l'Amour is a slowly evolving film about alienation in a modern city. Hsiao-kang works in a funeral home; he sells niches in an urn hall. Mei is a real estate agent. Ah-jung sells women's clothing in a doorway. Without knowing each other, the two men live in the realtor's apartment. On a cold winter night they meet in an empty apartment.
