Vo (also Vo 'or Vò) is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3279 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Padua in Veneto . The municipality is located about 20 kilometers west-southwest of Padua on the Parco regional dei Colli Euganei . Vo lies in the northwest of the Euganean Hills and borders directly on the province of Vicenza .

Vo became known around the world on February 21, 2020 when it was quarantined and sealed off by police forces after people contracted the corona virus in Vo .

history

The name of the community is said to come from the Latin Vadum .

During the COVID-19 pandemic, 95% of the approximately 3,400 residents were tested for the virus, 88 people had a positive test result. At this point in time, it was of particular interest to science that 50 to 75% of those infected showed no or hardly any symptoms of the disease.
