Der Volksfreund was an Austrian magazine that first appeared in 1890 and the last time in 1939. The Volksfreund appeared weekly on a Saturday (sometimes on a Friday). From 1899 to 1922 there was also the supplement Illustrated Sunday Sheet . The magazine's publisher was J. Oelbacher & Comp. From 1890 to 1897, Hehenwarter & Reyer from 1897 to 1903 and Franz Reyer's heirs from 1914 to 1939. The place of publication was Hallein .
