Full railway and full railway are technical terms used to designate railways that are not trams . The term was also used to distinguish it from Kleinbahn . He points out that the railway has no structural restrictions with regard to operation with high axle loads and high speeds.

For example, in 1899 the Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn was the first full -line railway in Europe to run electrically, while the first electric tram, the Groß-Lichterfelde tram , was in operation as early as 1881.
