The forward (proper spelling forward ) is a Socialist newspaper from Switzerland . It has existed since 1893.
Originally the newspaper was an organ of the Social Democratic Party , later of the Communist Party of Switzerland . From the founding of the Labor Party in 1944, it was its organ. Today, however, it is more broadly based and provides the Swiss radical left with a platform as a print and online medium.
In the print edition, Vorwärts illuminates politics and culture from a left, socially critical point of view every two weeks. Vorwärts sees itself as a newspaper for the left-wing of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland and the Greens , in particular the PdA .
The print edition has twelve pages, special editions have 16 pages. The edition is 1200 copies. The five-person editorial team is located in Zurich.
