Wladyslaw Marcinkowski
Władysław Marcinkowski (born June 16, 1858 in Mieszkow , † December 10, 1947 in Posen ) was a Polish sculptor.
Life
Marcinowski began his training at the evening school for drawing and modeling in Poznan and later studied in Berlin and Paris . In 1890 he settled in Berlin. At first he lived at Wartenburgstrasse 10. From 1894 he had his studio at Lützowstrasse 82 , where he worked until 1905. After that he lived at Bayreuther Straße 11 and had his studio at Motzstraße 40. During his student years and later in Berlin, he maintained contact with Polish artists living in exile. From 1914 he lived permanently in Poznan. For the 50th anniversary of his artistic work, he received the Art Prize of the City of Poznan in 1929.
