Waldemaro Bartolozzi

Waldemaro Bartolozzi (born October 26, 1927 in Scandicci ) is a former Italian cyclist and sporting director in cycling .

Athletic career

Bartolozzi received a contract with the Bartali-Gardiol team in 1949 , the captain of which was Gino Bartali . However, he was still more independent and was able to take part in certain amateur races. So he won the little tour of Lombardy ( Piccolo Giro di Lombardia ) in the fall of 1950. In 1951, he was at the start of the Giro d'Italia for the Atala team for the first time , which he contested nine times and finished eight times. He had his best result in 1956 with 9th place in the overall classification. In 1952 and 1956 he was Italian champion in the road race of the Independents. In 1959 he won the Tour of the Provinces of Calabria (Giro Provincia Reggio Calabria) and was 57th of the Tour de France . With the exception of the Tour of Flanders , he contested all the monuments of cycling , sometimes several times. His best result in these races was 6th place in the Tour of Lombardy in 1952 .

Professional

After his active career, he became sporting director in various cycling teams such as Filotex, Sanson , Gis-Gelati , Del Tongo and Mapei , in which Franco Bitossi , Francesco Moser and Moreno Argentin rode.
