Walon Green

Walon Green (born December 15, 1936 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American film and television producer , screenwriter and director .

Life

Walon Green began his career in the film business as a director for various television and cinema documentaries in the mid-1960s. In 1968 he wrote the scripts for two National Geographic specials for US television, and a year later he wrote the script for his first feature film . The result was The Wild Bunch - You know no law , and Green in 1970 for this work together with Roy N. Sickner and Sam Peckinpah for the Oscar nominated. In 1971 he shot the documentary The Hellstrom Chronicle and won the Oscar in the category Best Documentation the following year . He had also produced this film himself.

Above all, various activities as a screenwriter and producer followed. So Green acted as a producer or executive producer for television series such as New York Cops - NYPD Blue , Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme and Law & Order . For the latter, he also wrote some scripts in the mid-1990s. As a screenwriter for feature films, he worked twice with William Friedkin and with other directors such as Irvin Kershner and Tony Richardson . In 1983 he was also involved in the script for WarGames , but his name was not given for this.
