The Wappoltenreith branch church, located on a hill on the outskirts, was built at the beginning of the 16th century. It is assumed that a moth , a fortified tower made of wood, was previously at this point , but this building is not documented. It is dedicated to the patron saint of Lower Austria, Saint Leopold . A bell from 1516, signed by Wolfgang Aschenprenner, hangs in the roof turret of the small church. Aschenprenner is the first known by name of a number of Krems bell founders. The 500th anniversary of the branch church in 2016 was based on the guaranteed year of origin of the bell. Originally it belonged to the Pernegg monastery , and since 1756 it has been a branch church of the Trabenreith parish.

While the church was originally built in the late Gothic style, the high altar is from the early Baroque period . Like many baroque altars in this area, it is in three parts and resembles a winged altar. It shows a Black Madonna in the center, above it a statue of Saint Leopold and a figure of Saint Augustine and Saint Norbert , founder of the Premonstratensian Order , on the wings.
