The Allschwil water tower is a water tower in the Allschwil municipality in the Basel region .

Construction began in 1970, and the roof terrace has been open to the public since 1983. The 42.5-meter-high tower is 18 meters long concrete piles in loess founded . It contains two reservoirs with a total of 990 cubic meters of drinking water , including 100 cubic meters of fire water reserve .

The viewing platform at a height of 38 meters is only open on Sundays and public holidays at limited times. An elevator leads to the view. The tower offers an all-round view of Basel over the Black Forest to the Leimental . Four panorama boards provide information about the view.
