Wendy Siorpaes (born January 13, 1985 in Innichen ) is a former Italian ski racer . She celebrated her greatest successes in the downhill and super-G disciplines . She achieved two top 10 placements in the World Cup and eighth place in the downhill at the 2009 World Cup .

Career

Siorpaes contested her first international FIS race in December 2000. She had her first start in the European Cup in January 2003, and her first victory was on December 13, 2008 in the Super-G in St. Moritz . In the World Cup , Siorpaes started for the first time in January 2004 in the Super-Gs and downhill runs in Cortina d'Ampezzo . In her fifth race, the descent from Haus im Ennstal on January 30, 2004, she was already 15th and won her first World Cup points. After that, however, Siorpaes was mostly not or only barely in the points and it took until January 21, 2006 for her to achieve her first top 10 result in eighth place in the downhill from St. Moritz. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , Siorpaes competed in the combination and came in 27th. The next World Cup races were again less successful and often did not end in the points. In the 2007/08 season , however, she drove again three times under the fastest 20. She achieved a total of four top 20 results in the winter of 2008/09 , with her sixth place in the downhill from Cortina d'Ampezzo on January 24, 2009 her best World Cup result was achieved. This was the first and only time she qualified for participation in a world championship within the Italian team . In Val-d'Isère , France , she reached eighth place in the downhill and 21st place in the Super-G. The 2009/10 season was again less successful. After the winter she ended her career.
