Wenceslaus of Olomouc
Wenceslas von Olomouc was a late medieval copperplate engraver and goldsmith from Moravia , whose traditional creative period spanned the last two decades of the 15th century . His copper engraving The Gypsy Family is one of the oldest depictions of Gypsies in Bohemia and Moravia. A total of almost 100 copperplate engravings have survived, most of which are copies of foreign originals (such as originals from Martin Schongauer and the house book master , as well as the caricature of the Reformation pope donkey). In contrast, his goldsmith work and ornament designs are considered his own creations.
