Werner DePauli-Schimanovich

Werner DePauli-Schimanovich (* May 5, 1942 in Vienna as Werner Schimanovich ), also known under the pseudonyms Werner DePauli-Schimanovich-Göttig and Werner-Jimmy-DeViena DePauli-Schimanovich-Göttig , is an Austrian mathematician, computer scientist and artist.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1960, Werner Schimanovich studied mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology and physics, mathematics and philosophy at the philosophical faculty of the University of Vienna until 1966 . In 1965 he applied for a patent for the storage and reproduction of information on magnetic tape using cathode rays and devoted himself to the construction of a centric rotary piston engine. After working for the City of Vienna as a traffic planner and mathematician in 1966/1967 , he received his doctorate in 1973. phil. Since 1971 he has been a study assistant, university assistant and senior counselor at the Institute for Statistics and Decision Support Systems at the University of Vienna.

His research focus is the biographical processing of the life of Kurt Gödel . Schimanovich played a major role in founding the international Kurt Gödel Society. Together with Peter Weibel , he produced the documentary film "Kurt Gödel: a mathematical myth" for ORF in 1986 .

Schimanovich was already engaged in art, psychotherapy, hypnosis and psychoanalysis as a student. After a stroke in 2008, he took the position of Moshé Feldenkrais , according to which natural scientists should increasingly use their skills in the service of medicine and therapy.
