Werner Quintens

Werner Quintens (born March 21, 1937 in Ostend ; † January 10, 2005 in Belgium ) was a Belgian Roman Catholic priest .

Quintens was on July 26, 1962 in Mariakerke for ordained priests . He did his doctorate in Rome at the Pontificium Institutum Biblicum . In 1967 he became professor of the Old Testament in Bruges . He succeeded Maurits Sabbe in his office. In 1972 Pope Paul VI called him . to the Belgian Pontifical College in Rome and in 1974 appointed him Honorary Chaplain to His Holiness . From 1972 to 2003 Quintens was a church advisor at the Belgian Embassy to the Holy See . On February 25, 1987 named him John Paul II. To the Pontifical honor prelates . From 1989 to 1997 Quintens was also the church rector of the Flemish national church of San Giuliano dei Fiamminghi in Rome.

After a brief illness, he died on January 10, 2005.
