What on Earth! is a 1966 Canadian animated short film directed by Les Drew and Kaj Pindal .

action

The scientists on Mars finally found out that there is life on Earth. In a documentary contribution they introduce the inhabitant of the earth: the car.

It likes to move in packs (slow traffic) and occasionally stops to talk to other residents (traffic jam). If it is dissatisfied, it utters this (honking) so that workers can fix certain problems (construction site vehicles, etc.). There are institutions that dictate things to the car (traffic lights) and oddly placed libraries that help the car learn continuously (traffic signs). In the evening you go to sleep (garage) and occasionally visit a spa (washing facility) or a doctor (workshop). The car also performs cultural activities (drive-in cinema ). The path of reproduction, on the other hand, has not yet been fully explored, but it begins when the car is old. It is pressed into a cube. The scientists have reconstructed how things will continue: The cube is melted into a pink, soft mass and then processed by various machines so that a mini car is created, which, among other things, is shaped into a large car with the help of mini rockets and after brushing the teeth (radiator grille) and window cleaning is done.

What the scientists have not yet understood is that the earth's population has not yet cope with the parasites (people) that restrict the movement of cars with their buildings (cities). But this, the scientists are reassured, seems to have the car under control.
