The Whistler Mountain Ski Club ( WMSC for short ) is a Canadian skiing club from Whistler, founded in 1968 . The main sports in the club are alpine skiing and ski cross . The Whistler Mountain Ski Club organizes regular competitions in the Whistler-Blackcomb ski area , including the Whistler Cup , the largest and most important international children's ski race on the American continent , since 1993 .

Numerous internationally known skiers belonged and still belong to the club. The most successful include:

Alpine skiing:

  • Robbie Dixon (multiple Olympic and World Cup participant)
  • Britt Janyk (multiple Olympic and World Cup participant, 1 World Cup victory)
  • Michael Janyk (multiple Olympic and World Cup participant, 1 podium in the World Cup)
  • Dave Murray (multiple Olympic and World Cup participant, 3 podiums in the World Cup)
  • Manuel Osborne-Paradis (multiple Olympic and World Cup participant, 3 World Cup victories)

Skicross:

  • Davey Barr (World Cup bronze 1999, 1 World Cup victory)
  • Ashleigh McIvor (Olympic gold 2010 and World Cup gold 2009, 1 World Cup victory)
  • Julia Murray (World Cup silver 2011, 3 podiums in the World Cup)
  • Marielle Thompson (winner of the Skicross World Cup 2011/2012, 3 World Cup victories)
