Whit masterson

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whit Masterson is the common pseudonym of the American writer H. William Miller , called Bill Miller (born May 11, 1920 in Garrett , Indiana , † August 21, 1961 in San Diego , California ) and Robert Allison Wade , called Bob Wade ( * June 8, 1920 in San Diego, California; † September 30, 2012 in San Carlos , California).

Live and act

Miller and Wade met during their violin lessons in 1920 and remained friends for the rest of their lives. After attending school together, they went to college together ( San Diego State University ). In 1942 they both volunteered for the Air Force . After the joint basic training, Wade completed his service in Europe and Miller was stationed in the Pacific region until the end of the war.

After the end of the Second World War , they were both able to return to California and began writing their first novel there. In the following year they were able to publish their debut novel Deadly Weapon with great success . Encouraged by this success, Miller and Wade wrote their novels together until Miller's death in August 1961. In addition to Whit Masterson , they also used their two family names as pseudonyms ( Wade Miller ) and of these, the anagrams Will Daemer and Dale Wilmer .

After that, Wade continued to write under their common pseudonym Whit Masterson , but then shifted more and more to writing scripts for television and cinema films.
