The Ostrittrum wildlife and leisure park is an approximately 18- hectare facility in Ostrittrum , a district of the Lower Saxony community of Dötlingen in the Wildeshauser Geest nature reserve . The park is a member of the German Game Reserve Association and the German Zoo Society .

The Ostrittrum wildlife and leisure park was founded in 1976 and has been family-owned ever since. The target group of the barrier-free park are mainly families with children. In addition to around 30 animal species, there are also various teaching and leisure activities in the facility.
wildlife Park
In the wildlife park next to native species such as are red and fallow deer , storks and donkeys and goats also species other continent such as ostriches , Barbary apes and kangaroos kept. A special feature of the park are several white kangaroos .
Since the park is specially geared towards families with children, most of the animals can be fed and there is also a separate petting zoo .
Fairytale forest
In the fairy tale forest, various scenes from fairy tales and legends such as Rapunzel , The Bremen Town Musicians or Snow White are shown and told.
Nature trail
A nature trail was set up to accompany the tour of the park . Display boards provide information about native tree species and various habitats in Lower Saxony for animals and plants.
Local museum
Part of the park houses a small local museum. Historical agricultural implements such as plows and harrows, old household items as well as various everyday objects and tools such as tools for making wooden shoes are on display .
amusement park
There are two large playgrounds in the park with various play equipment, carousels and climbing frames. There is a pedal boat rental on a lake in the complex .
