Wild Beasts were an English band from Kendal , their music can be classified between indie rock and pop . The falsetto singing of the singer Hayden Thorpe was unusual .

The band was formed in 2002 by Hayden Thorpe and Ben Little while they were still in school. At first she called herself Fauve (French for predator , English Wild Beast ), but changed the name to Wild Beasts in 2004 . She recorded her first EP in 2004 and the second a year later. In August 2006 she signed her first recording deal with Bad Sneakers Records. She is now under contract with Domino Records . Their first single, Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants , received some attention. They hit the indie charts and the band played a few BBC sessions, including several sessions for Marc Riley ( BBC 6 Music ). The single was later re-released by Domino Records. In September 2017, the band announced their breakup via several of their social media channels. The last concerts took place in 2018.
