History and description
The Klaushof Wildlife Park was opened on May 19, 1971. The facility is located in a species-rich mixed forest and is visited by around 60,000 people annually.
The wildlife park, which is open all year round, has an area of 30 hectares, on which around 250 animals from 46 species are kept in extensive facilities. Mostly it is native game species. These include brown and white fallow deer, red deer , wild boar , beavers , otters , lynxes and a wild cat . Even goats and Heck cattle and pheasants , snowy owls and peacocks can be seen.
Since 1999 an aviary occupied by forest birds has been accessible. In 2011, an 800 square meter natural enclosure for wild cats was built. In 2018, an insect nature trail with interactive boards and beehives was opened.
At the entrance to the wildlife park, Vogelfreunde Bad Kissingen looks after a row of aviaries with exotic birds.
