Wilhelm Morocutti or Wilhelm Morokutti , also called Cutti (born May 9, 1900 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ; † February 2, 1962 in Oberneukirchen , Austria ), was an Austrian football player who participated in the success of the Wiener Amateur SV in the 1920s Years ago.

Club career

Morocutti, who was only called “Cutti” by the Viennese public, grew up in Ober-St. Veit and joined the amateurs living in the district in 1914 at the age of 14. There he quickly moved from the student to the youth team to the reserve and when, as a result of the First World War, many regular staff were not available, he made his debut in the combat team at the age of 16 in the position of left winger. Subsequently, it was able to secure its place in the storm row, but was mostly used as a right connector. In 1920 the amateurs reached the finals in the ÖFB Cup for the first time , but had to admit defeat to SK Rapid , which was just left behind in the championship. In 1921 a title could be won for the first time with the cup victory against the Wiener Sport-Club , but Cutti was not used in the final game.

After Cutti played on the left wing again for some time, he finally found his regular position on the right side of the storm, where the small player was able to convince with his penetration and stamina and was an essential goal setter for Kálmán Konrád, who played next to him . After two more runners-up championships, the first championship title finally succeeded in the 1923/24 season , which was followed by another two years later. The amateurs were also successful in the cup three times in a row. After Konrád's departure, Cutti's assists were mainly used by Gustav Wieser , Viktor Hierländer and Matthias Sindelar in the next few years .

In 1930 he left the Violettes after he had received strong competition from Josef Molzer in his position and there had been differences with the club's management. Cutti joined the Vienna AC , where he was still used sporadically in the next two seasons, but was still able to celebrate an international success by reaching the final in the Mitropacup in 1931 . Cutti was used in the second leg against Vienna , but could not prevent the Döblinger victory.

After he had founded his own company in 1924 in his learned profession as a dental technician, he devoted himself entirely to this activity after the end of his football career and moved to Oberneukirchen in Upper Austria in 1948 .

National team

In January 1922 Cutti ran for the first time for the national team in a 3: 3 against Italy , where he was still used on the left wing. He was able to secure a regular place as a right winger, especially in the years 1924 to 1926. He scored his first goal for the national team in April 1925 in a 4-0 win against France , and in a 4-3 win against Belgium in the same year he even scored two goals. In 1926 he lost his place to the Admiralty Ignaz Sigl and was then only taken into account once, namely in the 3-0 win against Yugoslavia in May 1928. He played a total of 17 international matches and scored five goals.
