Wilhelm Seel (mining engineer)

Wilhelm Seel (born August 15, 1816 in Siegen , † August 15, 1875 in Ramsbeck ; full name: Wilhelm Franz Seel ) was a German mining engineer and mining manager , he worked as a mining and smelting works director in Ramsbeck.

Wilhelm Franz Seel was born on August 15, 1816 as the son of the Justice Council Friedrich Wilhelm Seel and his wife Charlotte. Rhodius was born in Siegen. After passing the mountain referendar exam, Seel initially worked as a mountain jury and from 1855 as a mountain master in Siegen . In 1856 he switched to the services of the Actien-Gesellschaft für Bergbau, lead and zinc production in Stolberg and in Westphalia , for which he was director of the so-called Ramsbeck department until 1875 . Seel reorganized the completely collapsed Ramsbeck operation. As early as 1859 the department made a profit of tens of thousands of talers.

In addition to his work as a mine director, Seel examined mining damage in Iserlohn. Volunteer work, he was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce to Arnsberg . In 1865, Seel was awarded the Prussian Crown Order, 4th class .

Wilhelm Seel married Charlotte Clementine Dorothea Dressler on November 11, 1845 (born September 6, 1820 in Siegen; † March 31, 1892 there). The following children were born from the marriage:

  2. Emilie Wilhelmine Katharine Seel (born December 12, 1851 in Siegen),
