Wilhelm Wilms
Wilhelm Wilms (born July 14, 1865 in Berksen near Soest , † March 1, 1939 in Hamm ) was a German Protestant theologian , poet and author.
He was born the son of a farmer. He attended grammar school in Soest and graduated from high school in 1885. This was followed by studying Protestant theology in Tübingen , Leipzig , Berlin and Bonn . In 1890 he took the exam in Münster . From 1891 he was synodal vicar in Hamm , from 1893 pastor in Nieheim and from 1905 pastor in Dinker (now part of Welver).
Wilhelm Wilms was a close friend of Friedrich Wilhelm Weber and Ludwig Schröder.
He wrote extensive lyrical publications predominantly conservative and national patriotric content, as well as descriptions of fruit growing. In 1904 Wilms was the first to describe the Biesterfelder Renette apple variety and ensured its spread.
He retired in 1934 and died on March 1, 1939.
