William L. Manger
William L. Manger is a sound engineer .
Life
Manger started his career in the mid-1970s. He made his debut in 1975 with comedy The Manchu Eagle Murder Caper Mystery , a parody of the film noir classic The Trail of the Falcon . He then worked on some television productions. For his work in television he was nominated five times for the Primetime Emmy between 1977 and 1984 , where he won the 1977 award for his work on Irvin Kershner's action film ... which could know no mercy . His main focus, however, was the film.
In 1984 he received a nomination for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Sound for WarGames - Kriegsspiele . 1990 he worked for Black Rain together with Milton C. Burrow for the Oscar in the category Best Sound Editing nominated, but the award went this year to Ben Burtt and Richard Hymns for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade .
In 1998 he retired from the film business, his last work was the cartoon The Magic Sword - The Legend of Camelot .
