Willibald Rosner

Willibald Rosner (born December 23, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian archivist , author and editor .

Life

Willibald Rosner is the son of a secondary school teacher, graduated from high school in Vienna in 1971 and, after serving in the army, studied history, German and, at times, Slavic studies at the University of Vienna . As a temporary officer he interrupted his studies between 1976 and 1982. 1983 to 1986 he completed the course at the Institute for Austrian Historical Research .

In 1988 Rosner joined the Lower Austrian regional service and was assigned to the Lower Austrian regional archive , where he worked at the Lower Austrian Institute for Regional Studies. Since January 1st, 1998 he was deputy head of the archive. Since 2002 he has been a real councilor . On December 1, 2005, he was appointed director of the archive and, in May 2011, head of the newly created department of Lower Austria State Archives and Lower Austria State Library. He retired in December 2017. From 2013 to 2017 he was President of the Association of Austrian Archivists . From 1992 to January 2018 he was Secretary General of the Association for Regional Studies of Lower Austria.
