Under the Nassau administration, the community of Willmenrod belonged to the lordship of Leiningen-Westerburg in the Rennerod district . In 1858 there were 118 families and 477 residents in Willmenrod. In 1866 the Duchy of Nassau and with it Willmenrod became part of the Kingdom of Prussia .
In 1805, almost all of Willmenrod fell victim to a major fire. Due to the way of covering the roofs with straw at the time and the narrow construction of the houses, such a catastrophe was almost inevitable. Due to its location on the Elbbach and the steep gradient here, it was possible to operate five mills in the village.
