Winfried Wackerfuss

Winfried Wackerfuß (* 1943 in Bonn ) is a German historian with a focus on the history of the Odenwald and its peripheral landscapes.

Life

He studied history and German at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where he passed his first state examination in 1971 . In 1973, after the two-year legal traineeship, the second state examination and entry into the school service at the Albert Einstein School in Groß-Bieberau followed . He has been retired since 2005.

As early as the 1960s, Wackerfuß was committed to local history and the Breuberg Association . From 1967 he headed the picture archive of the Breuberg Association. In 1972 he took over the scientific management and in 1979 the editor of the quarterly publication of the Breuberg-Bund Der Odenwald, which has been published since 1953 . Since 1972 he has also been the editor of the articles on the exploration of the Odenwald and its peripheral landscapes . From 1982 onwards he is the first chairman of the Breuberg Association.

In 1979 he was appointed to the Hessian Historical Commission , and in 1982 he was appointed to the Monument Advisory Board of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district . From 1988 to 2009 he was in charge of the Lichtenberg Castle Museum .

His research focus is the historical geography of the Odenwald and its peripheral landscapes.
