The Winkelried is a passenger - motor boat on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland . It is operated by the Lake Lucerne Shipping Company (SGV).

history

The Winkelried was built by SGV in its own shipyard in Lucerne as a replacement for the paddle steamer Italia (1872–1963). The launch took place on August 17, 1963. At that time, two Saurer engines with 450 hp each were used as engines , which were later replaced by two MAN engines.

The Winkelried is used for scheduled trips as well as for special trips.
