Wisconsin State Fair

The Wisconsin State Fair is a fair in West Allis , Wisconsin in the United States . West Allis is a suburb of Milwaukee . The modern fair takes place regularly in August, occasionally it also begins in the last days of July and lasts for eleven days.

history

The first State Fair was held in Janesville , Wisconsin for two days in 1851 and had about 13,000 to 18,000 visitors. The fair alternated between different locations until it found its permanent home in West Allis in 1892. The new Aareal comprised various exhibition buildings, a racecourse with four stables and a grandstand for 6,000 spectators. 1899 was one of the attractions a motor show with a race between a Abresch - automobile and the trotter King Allar . The outcome is not recorded.

According to the organizers, the event attracted 876,020 visitors in 2010. The fair took place in 2011 from August 4th to 14th.

Events & entertainment

The fixed annual repertoire includes many traders in a wide variety of product groups, a large selection of catering establishments with a wide variety of food and drinks. The culinary offerings still clearly show that the majority of European immigrants in Wisconsin came from Germany , Poland and Italy . A special hit the State Fair are traditional cream puffs ( puffs ). Music also plays a major role, with concerts by local and nationally known musicians on several stages every day. The selection of rides includes Rainbow Valley's Freak Out , Spin Out , Super Loops , Kamikaze , Double Shock , Yo-Yo , Sizzler and the Comet-2 roller coaster has been around since 2010 .

At the same time, the agricultural trade fair takes place with, among other things, horse, cattle, sheep and chicken exhibitions.
