Wladislaw Hedeler ( Russian Владислав Хеделер ; * 1953 in Tomsk ) is a German historian , translator and publicist .

Life

Wladislaw Hedeler is the son of the German communist Walter Hedeler , who was exiled in Tomsk from 1943 to 1955. In 1955 he moved to the GDR with his parents . Hedeler studied philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1973 to 1978 . In 1985 he received his doctorate on Nikolai Ivanovich Bukharin . Hedeler has mainly worked on the history of the Soviet Union and is considered one of the internationally renowned researchers on communism . Hedeler regularly reviews for the historical scientific specialist forum H-Soz-u-Kult .
