Wolfgang Bühler (born September 26, 1943 in Schwäbisch Hall ) has been Professor of Finance at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia , since March 2010 .

Life

Before that, he was a professor of business administration with a focus on finance at the University of Mannheim . In addition to Peter Albrecht , Ernst Maug and Martin Weber, he held one of the four chairs in the Banking, Finance and Insurance area . He is regarded as the specialist in the field of bonds , interest rate derivatives , risk management and the microstructure of financial markets. Bühler has made a significant contribution to the establishment of internationally competitive empirical capital market research in Germany.

After studying mathematics in an economic direction at the Technical Universities of Stuttgart and Munich from 1962 to 1968, Wolfgang Bühler worked as a research assistant at the chair for Operations Research under Hans-Jürgen Zimmermann at RWTH Aachen University until 1976. 1971 Doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. at RWTH Aachen. 1976 Habilitation at RWTH Aachen, venia legendi for business administration and operations research.
