Wolfgang Blasig

Wolfgang Blasig (born March 31, 1954 in Moscow , USSR ) is an engineer and local politician . He is a member of the SPD , was mayor of Kleinmachnow and since 2009 District Administrator of the district Potsdam-Mittelmark .

Live and act

Wolfgang Blasig was born in 1954 as the child of so-called "German specialists" in the USSR . In 1957 his parents returned to Germany, the GDR , after 10 years of forced residency . From 1960 to 1968 he attended the Polytechnische Oberschule before he switched to the Extended Oberschule , where he passed his Abitur in 1972. Blasig then studied physics at the Technical University of Dresden until 1977 . After graduating, he went to Teltow , where he worked as a development engineer at VEB Electronic Components "Carl von Ossietzky" until 1990 . His focus was on the development of electronic components for radio and television technology.

After the political change in 1989/90, Blasig was elected deputy mayor and head of the head office on May 30, 1990 in the community council of Kleinmachnow . On March 18, 1993 he was appointed 1st alderman. His focus was human resources, business development, finance. On December 19, 1993, Kleinmachnow was elected mayor, to whom he was appointed on January 20, 1994. Wolfgang Blasig was re-elected on November 11, 2001 and January 20, 2002. On February 16, 2009, after fifteen years as Mayor Kleinmachnow, he moved to the district town of Belzig , after being elected as the new district administrator of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district for eight years on December 4, 2008. He was re-elected to this office with 70.4% in the runoff election on October 9, 2016, after receiving the most votes out of five applicants with 45.6% in the first ballot on September 25, 2016.

Wolfgang Blasig is married, has three children and three grandchildren and is Protestant .
