Wolfgang Pohle

Wolfgang Pohle (born November 28, 1903 in Erfurt , † August 27, 1971 in Munich ) was a German business lawyer, industrialist and politician of the CDU , later the CSU .

Life

Pohle studied law at the universities in Göttingen , where he was a member of the Corps Hannovera , as well as in Leipzig and Heidelberg . In 1925 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. and became a trainee lawyer, later an assessor in Erfurt. Pohle began his activity in the central associations of the Ruhr mining industry and in 1940 became chief legal advisor, later general representative and 1954–59 member of the board of management of Mannesmann AG . From 1959 he was a general agent of Friedrich Flick KG and from 1965 its personally liable partner. As a lawyer, he defended 1946-48 German industrialists at the Nuremberg follow-up processes : the Krupp process was Friedrich von Bulow his client, he was back in the Flick Trial and represented Hermann Reusch as witnesses at the IG Farben process .

Pohle was married to Ingeborg Kölle, their daughter is the photographer Karin Székessy .

Political party

Pohle joined the NSDAP in 1933 . After the war, Pohle was originally a member of the CDU. After moving to Bavaria , he joined the CSU. He was treasurer of the CSU.

MP

Pohle was a member of the German Bundestag for a total of 10 years from 1953 to 1957 and from 1965 until his death in 1971. From 1969 on he represented the district of Kempten (Allgäu) in parliament. His specialty was budget and financial policy. From 1965 until his death he headed the budget, tax and finance working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

From December 10, 1953 to October 29, 1957, he was also a member of the European Parliament .

Awards

Pohle had been the recipient of the Great Federal Cross of Merit with a Star since 1968 . He was also bearer of the Bavarian Order of Merit , the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic , the Grand Cross of the Cisnero Order (Spain) and the Almerito Grand Cross with shoulder ribbon and star of the Knightly Order of the Holy Grave in Jerusalem .
