Wolfgang Schädler (born July 8, 1958 in Triesenberg ) is a former Liechtenstein luge rider .

Career

Schädler competed at the 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics in both a single and a double-seater. In the two single-seater races he was unable to finish both times, in the two-seater he finished 19th in 1976 and 16th in 1980. In his third Olympic participation at the 1984 Games in Sarajevo , he only started in a single-seater and finished 11th.

Even after his career as an active tobogganer, he stayed with the sport. From 1986 to 2010, Schädler was a coach for the Americans for a total of 24 years, and from 2010 to 2014 he held the same position for the Russians. He has been under contract with the Chinese association since 2015, where he is supposed to build up a youth team.
