Wolfgang Teuschl
Wolfgang A. Teuschl (born April 26, 1943 in Vienna ; † September 21, 1999 there ) was an Austrian writer and cabaret artist .
Life
Teuschl originally studied physics at the University of Vienna . He later worked as an editor and translator (French, English, Spanish).
Teuschl earned merit primarily through his texts written in the Viennese dialect . He became known in 1971 through his translation of the Gospel of Mark into Viennese with the title Da Jesus und seine Hawara . He later published a Viennese dialect lexicon . In 1974 he was a founding member of the Keif cabaret . As a result, Teuschl mainly wrote song texts for other cabaret artists such as Kurt Sowinetz ( Alle Menschen san ma zwider ), ARGE Kabarett, Lukas Resetarits or Erwin Steinhauer . He was co-founder and co-owner of the cabaret stage Spektakel and arranged Nestroy pieces for the Vienna Burgtheater .
His sister was Hildegard Teuschl , a pioneer in the hospice movement in Austria. Wolfgang Teuschl was buried at Neustifter Friedhof (E-6-4) in Vienna.
