Wolfgang Winheim

Wolfgang Winheim (born September 1, 1946 in Vienna ) is an Austrian sports journalist .

Winheim has been reporting for the Viennese daily Kurier since 1966 and has been to 15 Olympic Games , nine soccer world championships and 16 alpine skiing world championships . He was best known for his "Diary" column, which appears several times a week .

In December 2011 Winheim was awarded the professional title of "Professor" at the Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Culture in Vienna. On December 14, 2016, Winheim was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria by Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka .
