Wolfgang Zerer

Wolfgang Zerer (* 1961 in Passau ) is a German organist , harpsichordist and music teacher .

Life

Wolfgang Zerer took his first organ lessons in Passau. From 1980 he studied harpsichord in Vienna with Gordon Murray , organ with Michael Radulescu , conducting with Karl Österreicher and church music , later harpsichord with Ton Koopman in Amsterdam and church music and organ with Ludger Lohmann in Stuttgart . After teaching assignments in Stuttgart and Vienna, he received a professorship for organ at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater in 1989 . Since 1995 he has been a guest lecturer at the Conservatorium Groningen and since October 2006 lecturer for organ at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis .

Wolfgang Zerer was a laureate of organ competitions in Bruges (1982) and Innsbruck (1983).
In 2013 he received the 5th teaching award of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, endowed with € 10,000, for his excellent work as a teacher.
