Woody Mann ( December 30, 1952 – January 27, 2022 ) was a blues , country blues , ragtime , gospel and swing guitarist . He was one of the internationally best known and best fingerpicking guitarists of his genre.

Live and act

Mann learned to play the guitar with Gary Davis and the jazz pianist Lennie Tristano from Chicago, who was also blind like Davis ; he was also a graduate of New York's Juilliard School of Music . By strongly intertwining the styles of jazz , blues, classical and world music , Mann finally found his own style.

The musician was also successful as a teacher; he has published numerous guitar tutors, textbooks and videos, and held workshops and international guitar seminars. His students included Paul Simon , among others .
