World Federation of Independent Scouts
The World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS) is an international umbrella organization for scouts and was founded in 1996 in Laubach , Germany. The aim is to be a global umbrella organization for scouts who are not members of another scout world organization , to establish contacts between scouts at camps, leadership training and jamborees and to contribute to their care.
The association now has more than 50 scout associations from around 40 countries with around 35,000 members. In order to facilitate cooperation, the WFIS is organized in regional associations. The seat of the European region (WFIS-Europe eV) is Berlin .
