The Wortmann Schuh-Holding KG is a shoe production - and distributor in the world, based in Detmold . The family company is one of the leading shoe production and shoe sales companies in Europe.

history

In 1967, Wortmann KG was founded by Horst Wortmann in Detmold. This location still serves as the company's headquarters today. In 1980 Wortmann KG took over Wendel GmbH & Co. KG (Marco Tozzi). The Wortmann group gradually expanded. In 1990 the Caprice shoe production was established at the Pirmasens location and in 1999 the subsidiary shoe.com was brought into being, which since 2005 the shoe license of the textile brand s. Oliver holds. In 2000 the company Jana shoes (formerly a + w shoes) was founded. Eight years later, in 2008, the subsidiaries of the Wortmann and Caprice sales channels were created in Russia. The Russian sales companies von Wendel, Jana shoes and shoe.com followed in autumn 2012. In the same year, Wortmann started its online shop for Germany and Austria. Other countries will follow. Wortmann Fashion Retail, launched in 2010, is responsible for the entire B2C area including e-commerce from Tamaris and now operates five outlets and 17 stores on its own. Tamaris USA Inc., founded in 2014, is responsible for establishing the Tamaris brand on the American market.

In November 2010, Wortmann opened a new logistics center in Detmold . With an investment volume of around 35 million euros, the logistics center is the largest investment in the company's history to date. The Wortmann factory outlet in Detmold opened in November 2014. Investments are currently being made in expanding the headquarters.

Awards

Wortmann was named the best shoe manufacturer of 2009 by the trade journal "Schuhkurier" . In 2010 the OWL 2010 Marketing Prize was presented to the company .
