Wouter Goris

Wouter Goris is a Dutch philosopher .

Life

He studied philosophy in Amsterdam , Leuven and Paris . After completing his doctorate in 1997 at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam , he was academic advisor at the Thomas Institute in Cologne from 1998 to 2006 . From 2006 to 2016 he teaches as a full professor of ancient and medieval philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Since 2017 he has been a full professor of philosophy, especially the Middle Ages, at the University of Bonn .

His main research interests are the origins of transcendental philosophy in the Middle Ages, Johannes Duns Scotus, Edmund Husserl & Michel Foucault, metaphysics and logic and freedom and the good.
