Wu-Tang Forever is the second studio album by the US hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan . It was released on June 3, 1997 on the labels Loud Records , RCA Records and BMG .

Most of the album was produced by Wu Tang Clan member RZA , who produced the instrumentals for 21 songs. Other beats come from the Wu-Tang member Inspectah Deck and the music producers 4th Disciple and True Master. 18 songs on the album contain samples of songs by other artists as well as various dialogues from films.

Cover design

The album cover shows the logo of the Wu-Tang Clan - a bat stylized as a W - in white with the words Wu-Tang . Some of the members can be seen on stage at a concert. In the lower part, the nine former members Ghostface Killah , GZA , Inspectah Deck , Masta Killa , Method Man , Ol 'Dirty Bastard , Raekwon , RZA and U-God are shown. Below is the title Wu-Tang Forever in white.

Wu-Tang Forever entered the German charts at number 35 on June 2, 1997 and reached the highest position in the following week at number 8. In total, the album stayed in the top 100 for 21 weeks. In the United Kingdom and the United States, the record debuted at number 1 and stayed in the charts for 14 and 41 weeks, respectively.

As singles , the songs Triumph , It's Yourz and Reunited were decoupled, of which only Triumph was able to place in the United Kingdom in the charts and reached number 46 there.

The album was certified four times platinum in the United States for over two million copies sold , as double albums are rated twice there. It was awarded a gold record in Switzerland and the United Kingdom .

At the 1998 Grammy Awards , Wu-Tang Forever was nominated for Best Rap Album , but lost to No Way Out by Puff Daddy .
