Xavier Maassen
Xavier Maassen (born June 22, 1980 in Heerlen ) is a Dutch racing driver .
Career in motorsport
Xavier Maassen began his career in 2001 in Formula Ford , where he won the general classification of the Belgian championship in 2001, a success that he repeated in 2002. In the same year came the second final place in the Dutch championship. In 2003 he switched to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , but remained there without any countable success. While he was again without points in the Eurocup in 2004, he finished the Dutch championship in second place in the final standings. By the end of the 2007 season, Maassen was involved in various Formula Renault racing series and then switched to GT and sports car racing .
In 2009 he competed for Luc Alphand's team in the FIA GT Championship and made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year . In the 2010s he competed in the Blancpain Endurance Series and won the overall ranking of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux Cup in 2014 .
Maassen has driven four times in Le Mans so far. The best place in the final ranking was 16th in 2009 .
