Yasuyuki Honne
Yasuyuki Honne ( Japanese 本 根 康 之 , Honne Yasuyuki ; born March 5, 1971 ) is a Japanese developer of video games .
Act
In 1993, Honne was employed by Square Enix . As art director he worked on games such as Xenogears ( PlayStation 1998) and Chrono Cross (PlayStation 1999) and worked with Tetsuya Takahashi . In 1999, some Square Enix employees left the company and founded the Monolith Soft studio , which became a subsidiary of Namco Bandai . On the studio's first game, Xenosaga Episode I: The Will to Power (PlayStation 2002), Honne also served as art director.
With Baten Kaitos: The Wings of Eternity and the Lost Ocean , Honne made his debut as director, he was also responsible for the graphics of the game, which was published in Japan in 2003 for the GameCube . On the 2006 successor Baten Kaitos Origins , Honne was also involved in the position of director.
In 2007, Namco sold Monolith Soft to the Japanese company Nintendo . In 2006, Takahashi had already started planning an RPG for Nintendo's Wii console. Honne participated in this project by designing conceptual clay figures. The game was released in 2010 as Xenoblade Chronicles .
Honne is a board member and head of the graphics department within Monolith Soft. In mid-2011, the company established a second headquarters in Kyoto to strengthen the partnership with Nintendo, which has its headquarters there. Honne serves as the head of Monolith Soft's Kyoto studio and has been working on an unannounced title since 2010. Apart from that, Honne was involved in cooperation work between Monolith Soft and Nintendo or Namco and played the role of game producer several times . He owns 20 shares in the company's stock.
