Yeovil Town (officially: Yeovil Town Football Club ) - also known as The Glovers - is an English football club from Yeovil in the county of Somerset , in the since the season 2015/16 EFL League Two , is represented, the fourth English top flight.
history
The Yeovil Town Football Club was founded in 1895. He played in the non-league area for more than 100 years before he was promoted to the third division in 2003 . The club first became known nationwide when it reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in 1949 under the direction of player- coach Alec Stock . However, there was a clear 8-0 away defeat at Manchester United . The team then played in the Southern League , which was won four times between 1949 and 1966. 1979 succeeded for the first time promotion to the Alliance Premier League , the top division below the Football League . After the rise in the league area in 2003, the march into the third English division succeeded in 2005. The club's greatest success to date was promotion to the English second division in 2013.
