The speaking person is certain that the person addressed will never leave them (“you'll never leave me”), because their affection is too great (“cause you like me too much”), even though they have been wronged (“ I admit that I was wrong ”). "The boring, happy-radiating text, which is probably inspired by his affair with Pattie Boyd [note: see also I Need You ], uses self-humiliation instead of emotional depth [...]." " There is one line, one thought, in which he says , 'if you ever leave me, I will follow you', which alas foretold what was to come.
